Pride, I suppose, that she had the courage to do what I could not. But I also feared for her and for our futures as she fought on the sands. Not because she was in fighting - she can fend for herself as well as any ellon - but because of the repercussions that were sure to come after.
Feanaro was inclined to hate her more than he already did, and it took a lot to beg convince him to spare her. I feared that perhaps our cousins would turn on us so soon after they had turned on their other kin, and although it was not her fault she certainly contributed to the tension.

I tried to organize that, but my father and uncle seemed too busy being at each others throat to actually bother to consider it.
